Abstract

1519224 Cylinder cleaning H J MOESTUE 11 Sept 1975 [11 Sept 1974 27 Aug 1975] 37459/75 Heading B6C [Also in Division B8] A cylinder cleaning apparatus 25 comprises a washcloth 4 stored on a magazine roller 10 and fed under a cleaning fluid spray 19 round a pressure roller 8, to contact the cylinder, and on to an exchangeable winding roller 3. A pawl locking device 11, 12 activated by magnetic coil 14, controls movement of the pressure roller 8. A drip sump may be provided below pipe 19, with an air cylinder to cause the cloth 4 periodically to be pushed down into the sump to use up the drips and clean the sump. When not in use the apparatus may be swung away from the cylinder.
