Abstract

1518615 Mixing apparatus ROGER WOOD (BURY) Ltd 5 May 1977 [7 May 1976] 18749/76 Heading B1C Apparatus for mixing the liquid constituents of a polymethane foam comprises a detachable mixing chamber and nozzle 17, 18 to which the constituents are supplied through resilient tubes 15a, 16a which may be closed by a restrictor 26. Compressed air is supplied through conduits 22a, 22, 23 to the mixing chamber to create a vortex therein to mix the constituents and discharge them from the chamber; when the tubes 15a, 16a are closed by the restrictor, the air flow is increased to purge and clean the mixing chamber. The restriction may be operated by a hand lever (33, Fig. 5, not shown) or by a pneumatic cylinder 20 operated electrically by a push button 31 and cable 31a.
