Abstract

1518420 Deodorants comprising pyran derivatives NAARDEN INTERNATIONAL NV 6 Aug 1976 [7 Aug 1975 29 July 1976] 32877/76 Headings A5B and A5E Pyran derivatives of formula: wherein R, and R 2 are H, alkyl or cycloalkyl and R is an organic radical, find application as deodorizing agents e.g. for use on the skin or in spaces such as living quarters or offices. Preferred pyran derivatives are 3, 4-dihydropyrans such as 3, 4-dihydro-2H-pyran-2-ylmethanol or 3, 4-dihydro-pyrans containing a substituent having an unsaturated linkage alpha, beta to a carbonyl group. The pyran derivative may be formulated with a gelatinous carrier, a cosmetic cream, a hair lacquer, a cold wave composition, a lipstick composition, a talcum powder, a soap, a shampoo, an ointment, a gaseous or gasifiable propellant or a cat litter. Optional ingredients are perfumes, absorbents, solvents, emollients barrier agents, healing agents, and aerosol propellants. Examples describe compositions for use as hair sprays, room deodorants, hand creams and deodorant/soaps.
