Abstract

1518201 Fluid-pressure switches BETA BV 9 Dec 1975 [17 Dec 1974] 50336/75 Heading H1N In a pressure operated explosion proof electric switch assembly the switch unit 4, Fig. 1, is mounted in one compartment 1 of a housing and is actuated through a longitudinally movable pin 9 extending through a wall 12 of the compartment 1, and activated by a fluid pressure unit comprising a diaphragm 14 and piston 13 assembly mounted on a further wall 18 of the housing with the piston rod 10 extending into engagement with the pin 9 through a threaded collar 19 adjustable in a housing 16 for calibrating the fluid pressure unit. A detachable cover plate 40 may be provided to extend between the walls 12, 18 to form an enclosure 3 for the adjust. ing collar 19. Threaded apertures 43 in the side walls of the enclosure 3 provide for release of fluid if leaked from the fluid pressure unit. Connections to the switch 4 are made in a connecting chamber 2 having terminals 31 extending through a wall 5 of the switch compartment 1. Both the switch compartment 1 and chamber 2 having sealing covers 23, 33 and the cover 23 may have holes (28) Fig. 3 (not shown) for mounting the assembly on a wall whereby the assembly may be removed from the cover 23 for examination of the switch 4 while leaving the cover still mounted on the wall.
