Abstract

1517434 Heat-reflecting glass CENTRAL GLASS CO Ltd 26 March 1976 [29 March 1975] 12325/76 Heading C1M A heat-reflecting glass plate comprises a metal oxide film which includes Al 2 O 3 and at least one oxide of Cr, Co, Ni, Fe, Zn, Sn, Cu, Mn or Ti, the film resulting from thermal decomposition of organometallic compounds of the metals coated, as a single solution in an organic solvent, on the plate. The film, which may be 30-80 millimicrons thick, preferably comprises 1-50% by weight of Al (based on the total metals in the film). The plate may be heated (before or after coating) to, e.g.. above 400‹C. The compounds may be acetyl acetonates or alkoxides, halides or nitrates. The solvent may be, e.g., methanol, ethanol, benzene, toluene, dichloromethane, trichloroethane or perchloroethylene (preferably a dichloromethane and methanol mixture is used).
