Abstract
1516788 Optical fibre device FUJI PHOTO OPTICAL CO Ltd 3 Dec 1976 [5 Dec 1975] 50615/76 Heading G2J A light transmitting device, e.g. an endoscope, comprises a first bundle of optical fibres arranged in a close pack hexagonal structure wherein an image focused on the exit end-face of said bundle is focused on an entrance end-face of a second fibre bundle composed of same size fibres hexagonally close packed arranged so that the directions along which the fibres lie in straight lines are at right angles to the corresponding directions in the first fibre bundle. A semi-transparent mirror may be used to partially transmit the image formed at the first fibre bundle direct to an eye-piece and partially reflect the same image to the second fibre bundle see Fig. 1 (not shown).
