Abstract

1516756 Disc cutters HERMANN BERSTORFF MASCHINENBAU GmbH 21 Sept 1976 [24 Sept 1975] 39123/76 Heading B4B [Also in Division B3] Disc cutters 14, 18 with independent drives respectively below and above the plane of a reel wire-reinforced rubber sheet 6 to be cut are mounted on a U-shaped member 11 supported on a carriage 3 reciprocable transversely of the sheet, guide faces 25 deflecting the cut edges as the member 11 passes through the cut. Tilting of the member 11 about a pivot 9 on the carriage is limited by engagement of an adjustable stop 23 on the carriage with a stop 24. The carriage is moved by a reversible chain drive (not shown) mounted on lugs 26, 27. A hold down (18) is provided and conveyers (21), (22) (Fig. 1, not shown) feed the sheet to and from the cutters.
