1516739 Sodium hydride ETHYL CORP 30 Sept 1975 [4 Oct 1974 20 Nov 1974 (2)] 40025/75 Heading C1A [Also in Division C2] A process for preparing sodium hydride comprises reacting sodium with hydrogen at elevated pressure and at above 170‹C in the presence of a catalytic amount of a sodium aluminium dialkyl dihydride and usually in the presence of an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent such as toluene.
