Abstract
1516115 Metering viscous liquid SIEMENS AG 5 Aug 1975 [22 Aug 1974] 32765/75 Heading B8N An apparatus for metering viscous liquid such as casting resin to impregnate a winding of an electrical machine comprises a supply line 1 with controlled inlet 2 and outlet 3 and a quantity control for the liquid to open and close the inlet and outlet in turn. The supply line has a branch 6 connected to a control column 8 filled with dyed water whose position is detected by devices 9, 10 which may be capacitive or photoelectric. The upper device 9 closes the inlet blocking element 2 on to the line 1 which is flexible, e.g. PVC, and the outlet blocking element 3 is opened either by a timing element actuated by a wound rotor conveying belt or by the upper device 9. The dyed liquid falls as the viscous liquid is discharged until it reaches detector 10 which closes the outlet and opens the inlet.
