Abstract

1516010 Camera shutter and flash control WEST ELECTRIC CO Ltd 11 Oct 1976 [15 Oct 1975] 42134/76 Heading G2A A camera shutter and flash control circuit comprises (a) a flash tube 4 having a storage capacitor 3 chargeable by a D.C.-D.C. converter 2 connectable to a battery 1 by a switch 20 (b) a photosensing circuit 11 for daylight exposure and a photosensing circuit 15 for flash exposure (c) a switching circuit 10 selectively connectable to the photosensing circuits by a switch 21 (d) a shutter closing electromagnet 9 and a flash tube quenching element 7 operated by the switching circuit 10 (e) a coupling between switches 20 to 21 so that when the D.C.-D.C. converter 2 is connected to the battery 1 by switch 20, the flash photosensing circuit 15 is connected to the switching circuit 10 by switch 21; and when the D.C.-D.C. converter is disconnected from the battery, the daylight photosensing circuit 11 is connected to the switching circuit 10. Daylight circuit 11 comprises a slow response photo-conductor 12 and an integrating capacitor 13; flash circuit 15 comprises a fast response photo-transistor 16 and an integrating capacitor 17. The quench element 7 may be in series or parallel with tube 4.
