Abstract

Device comprising an active substance carrier (Fig. 1) and a holder for this active substance carrier (Fig. 2). The holder is a pin (4) of a thermoplastic material which has a broadened section (6) on one end while the other end terminates in a tip (5) provided with barbs. The active substance carrier is formed by a disc (1) of a sintered thermoplastic in the surface of which there is provided a recess (2) for accommodation of the holder. The recess is connected to the edge of the disc by a slot (3) through which the pin of the holder is inserted in the recess in the active substance carrier. The active substance carrier is transferred to its ready-to-use state by impregnation with a solution of active substance. The device is fixed to the external ears of domestic and agricultural animals, and in this position it serves to combat parasitic ear ticks. <IMAGE>
