Description
Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Vorrichtung zur Bekämpfung von Zecken in den Ohren von Nutz- und Haustieren, z. B. Rhipicephalus appendiculatus und Rhipice-phalus evertsi in den Ohren von Rindern und Pferden. Die vor allem in süd-, zentral- und ostafrikanischen Ländern verbreiteten Zeckenarten, die sich mit Vorliebe in den Ohren von Nutz- und Haustieren festsetzen, können die Ohrmuscheln der befallenen Tiere völlig zerstören. Von Ohrzek-ken werden ausserdem die gefürchteten Theileriosen (East Coast Fever, Corridor Disease) übertragen. Ohne Bekämpfung des Überträgers muss mit einer hohen Mortalität gerechnet werden. Die Ohrzecken verursachen daher grossen Schaden und Massnahmen zu ihrer Bekämpfung sind unbedingt erforderlich. Rhipicephalus appendiculatus muss demzufolge durch zusätzliche Behandlungen bekämpft werden, was sehr kostspielig und zeitraubend ist. In der US-Patentschrift 3 756 200 wird bereits vorgeschlagen, Ohrzecken bei Rindern dadurch zu bekämpfen, dass man an der Ohrmuschel des Tieres mit Hilfe von zwei Schrauben eine Hülse aus porösem Material befestigt, die in den Gehörgang hineinragt und in diese Hülse einen Streifen aus thermoplastischem Material, z. B. Polyvinylchlorid, einbringt, in den der Wirkstoff, z.B. 2,2-Dichlorvinyl-dimethylphosphat, eingearbeitet ist. Diese Vorrichtung ist nicht nur schwierig an den Ohren der Tiere zu befestigen, sondern sie wird auch von den Tieren als störend empfunden. Daher versuchen die Tiere, sich dieser Vorrichtung wieder zu entledigen. In US Pat. Rind, Pferd) zu befestigende Vorrichtung zur Bekämpfung von Ohrzecken mit einem leicht auswechselbaren Wirkstoffträger vorgeschlagen, die aus einem Wirkstoffträger und einer Haltevorrichtung für den Wirkstoffträger besteht. Die erfindungsgemässe Vorrichtung zur Bekämpfung der Ohrzecke ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Haltevorrichtung aus einem Stift, z. B. aus thermoplastischem Material, besteht, der an einem Ende eine mit Widerhaken versehene Spitze und am anderen Ende eine Verbreiterung besitzt und dass der Wirkstoffträger als Scheibe aus gesintertem thermoplastischem Kunststoff ausgebildet ist, in deren Fläche eine Aussparung zur Aufnahme des Stiftes der Haltevorrichtung vorgesehen ist, die durch einen Schlitz mit dem Rand der Scheibe verbunden ist, durch welchen der Stift der Haltevorrichtung in die Aussparung des Wirkstoffträgers eingeführt werden kann.
