1515802 Non-woven bias fabric P C RHODES 9 Feb 1977 [11 Feb 1976] 05270/76 Heading D1R In a non - woven bias fabric in which the fabric is formed of inclined layers of parallel yarns extending between the edges of the fabric the lateral separation between the centres of at least the majority of adjacent yarns in each layer is 1 to 2 times the yarn diameter. A sheet of yarns is laid between parallel rows of travelling pins 1 by guide bars 3 that are reciprocated perpendicular to the rows of pins, their reciprocating movement being halted when they are disposed above a row of pins to allow solenoid 11 to lower the guide bars to engage the yarns with pins 1 and solenoid 12 to then lift the guide bars. The bias fabric is bonded by latex applied by rollers (33, 34, Fig. 6, not shown).
