1514994 Overbased materials CHEVRON RESEARCH CO 15 July 1975 [15 July 1974] 28334/76 Divided out of 1514993 Heading C4X A particulate dispersion of mixed alkali and alkaline-earth borates is made by reacting in an inert, stable, oleophilic reaction medium (1) boric acid with (2) an alkali or alkaline-earth sulphonate overbased with an alkaline-earth carbonate to form an alkaline-earth borate intermediate, and then reacting the intermediate with alkali.
