Abstract

1514866 Magnetic key lock ZEISS IKON AG 18 Oct 1976 [17 Oct 1975] 43107/76 Heading E2A A lock for use with a key having a magnetic coding thereon comprises a magnetic reading device having at least one Hall generator to convert the magnetic lines of flux proceeding from the key into a corresponding electrical signal to actuate the lock via a suitable programmable control circuit. The key is preferably made of a homogenous material in which can be recorded the magnetic information, which can include a clock track which controls the interrogating times at which the key information is received by the reading device. The key may have both serrations and magnetic coding, and the lock may take the form of a cylindrical barrel lock.
