Abstract

1514832 Deaf aids; receiver on-off switching T G PALMAER 9 May 1975 19714/75 Headings H3Q and H4J A portable battery operated device, e.g. a signal receiver for attracting the attention of personnel, a hearing aid, a speech amplifier or a radio receiver, includes an arm 2 pivotally journalled intermediate its ends so that when one end 6 is used to mount the device in position, e.g. in a jacket pocket 11, the other end 7 of the arm 2 moves to actuate a switch 10 connected in circuit with the batteries. When the device is removed from the pocket 11, the switch 10 is biased to an open position and the arm end 6 is urged by a spring 4 to a rest postion against the casing 5 of the device. The switch 10 is embedded in yielding material 12 to allow larger movements of the arm 2 when clipped over thick material 11.
