1514665 Frame member for double glazing unit SUPERSEAL CORP 17 Aug 1976 [18 Sept 1975] 34230/76 Headings E1J and E1R An elongate frame member of vinyl plastics material for a double glazing unit comprises in cross-section a channel with a web 30 and side walls 32, 34 and two hollow enclosed portions 46, 50; portion 46 being formed by web 30, walls 40, 42 (configurations of walls 34, 32 respectively) and wall 44; portion 50 being formed by walls 34, 40 and walls 52, 54 and 56. A groove 58 for a sealing strip 60 may be provided. A reinforcing member 48 e.g. of metal may be provided within the hollow portion 46; this may have screw receiving grooves 66 usable for joining adjacent members at the corners of a frame, flanges 61 for a window opening mechanism and may receive hinges. Corner pieces with spigots fitting into hollow portions 50 may also be provided.
