1514607 Pneumatically conveying vehicles in conduits GEORGIA TECH RESEARCH INSTITUTE 18 Oct 1976 [3 Nov 1975] 43228/76 Heading B8A A vehicle is conveyed along a conduit by means of an air flow produced by a pump 14 which directs air into the conduit at locations 50, 44 respectively provided with valves 22, 24 urged to a position clear of the conduit and moved to a conduit blocking position when valves 56, 58 direct air on to the backs of the valves 22, 24 in response to sensors 30, 36 which detect the vehicle. This prevents the air flow from flowing in a reverse direction along the conduit but allows for the passage of vehicles.
