1514274 Acoustic grain sensor CLAAS MASCHINENFABRIK GmbH GEBR 9 Oct 1975 [12 Oct 1974] 41524/75 Heading G1G Grain throughput or loss in a combine harvester is detected by a body microphone 8 clipped to the centre of a rigid impact plate 1 extending over most or all of the full working width of the straw walker or grain sieve of the combine harvester and resiliently secured to a trough-shaped support 3. The plate 1 may be of steel or aluminium or glass-reinforced plastic and a damping film 11 may be provided on its upper surface in the region of the microphone. There may be a plurality of body microphones. Baffles 12 acoustically divide the support which has an antiboom coating 13 and sound-absorbing metal-rubber mounting means 6.
