Abstract
1514185 Flux for casting metal ROBSON REFRACTORIES Ltd 5 Aug 1976 [6 Aug 1975] 32930/75 Heading C7M [Also in Division B3] In casting molten metal, a flux comprising a mixture of MgO, CaO SiO 2 , MnO 2 and/or iron oxide, alkali metal carbonate alkali or alkaline earth fluoride and carbon is added during teeming. The flux preferably contains in weight per cent; 20-80 talc, 10-30 quicklime, 5-50 flourglass, 2-25 fluorspar, 2-25 Na 2 CO 3 , 0À05-10C, 0-25 MnO 2 , 0-20 iron oxide with a minimum of 1% MnO 2 or iron oxide; 5% Borax and 5% NaF may also be included.
