Abstract
1512720 Angular motion transducer NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 24 Dec 1975 [28 Dec 1974] 52858/75 Heading G1N An angular displacement or velocity transducer consists in an annular member 26 of ferrite with alternate N and S poles magnetized along its periphery and secured for rotation with the crank-shaft 10 of an I.C. engine between the rim 16a of a crank-shaft pulley 16 and a non-magnetic support 22 secured to the crank-shaft by a bolt 24, passing through a cylindrical portion 22a. A roller bearing 30 is mounted on the portion 22a and an annular support 34 is secured to the bearing outer race 30b. The support 34 is prevented from rotating by a plate 42 screwed by bolt 44 to stationary engine stay 46, allowing adjustment of the precise location of the pickup head relative to the annular member but obviating the need for adjustment of the clearance between the head and the member. The support carries a pick-up head 40 disposed adjacent the outer periphery of the annular member so as to sense magnetic variations as the crank-shaft rotates. Electric signals representing angular displacement and velocity of the shaft are produced by the head.
