1511817 Radiography HEIMANN GmbH 17 Sept 1976 [3 Nov 1975] 38529/76 Heading H5R A radiographic apparatus for examining luggage comprises two stationary housing sections 2, 5 containing respectively an X-ray source 3 and a fluorescent screen 6 viewed by a television system 7, 9, and a sliding section 11 which is moved to the closed position during irradiation of an object in space 10, the movement of section 11 being effected by a linear motor 18, 19. Reed switches 22, 23, 24 actuated by a magnet 21 on section 11 control the motor speed.
