Abstract
1511562 Ni based superalloys GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 20 May 1975 [17 July 1974] 21484/75 Heading C7A A castable high temperature Ni based superalloy, with a good combination of mechanical properties, stability and resistance to localize pitting and corrosion in high temperature corrosive environments contains:- Cr 13À7-14À3 Co 9-10 Ti 4À8-5À5 Al 2À8-3À2 W 3À7-4À3 Mo 1À0-1À5 B 0À01-0À02 Zr 0À02-0À10 C 0À08-0À30 and either The alloy consists of a matrix, an α' precipitate and a monocarbide phase consisting of Ta, Ti, Mo and W in such proportions that the total of Mo + W is less than 15% of the carbide phase, and is achieved by maintaining the alloy within the stated compositional limits. The material is suitable for use in gas turbine and jet engine applications where severely corroding fuels are used. It may be cast, and the cast parts heat-treated at 1220C, 1090C and 1050C in vacuum, followed by a period at 840C in argon.
