Abstract

1510010 Magnetic couplings NIHON KAGAKU KIZAI KK 19 Dec 1975 52149/75 Heading H2A In a magnetically driven rotary pump, a discoidal magnet 1 mounted on the impeller shaft 5 is driven by two annular permanent magnets 2 which are disposed on opposite axial sides of the driven magnet 1 and are mechanically connected together for rotation by a shaft 7 connectible to a power source, the driven mag. net 1 being mounted inside a non-magnetic housing 3. The magnet 1 and housing 3 may be made of corrosion resistant material or may be coated with corrosion reistant material. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) the shaft 5 carries two discoidal driven magnets 1 spaced apart axially, these magnets being associated with three driving magnets 2, one of the latter being disposed between the magnets 1.
