Abstract

1509782 Crack inducing inserts SCHLEGEL (UK) Ltd 18 May 1976 [19 May 1975] 21181/75 Heading E1B A crack inducing insert has a first longitudinal edge portion 1 interconnected with a hollow longitudinal portion 3 by one or more strips 5 of a material which is softer than the material of either edge portion. The strip is pressed into uncured concrete and after setting the upper portion is torn away and the gap filled with a joint sealant. The lower edge portion may be stiffened with a zig-zag wire. Both edge portions are made of rigid or semi rigid PVC and the strips of softer material are soft plastics or elastomer.
