Abstract
1509663 Cement/resin composition ROULUNDS FABRIKER AS 11 March 1976 [13 March 1975] 09772/76 Heading C1H [Also in Division C3] A water-free hardenable composition comprises a resin (R), the curing of which results in liberation of water, and pulverized cement clinker (C), which acts as filler or friction-modifier, (R) may be a phenolic, melamine, and/or Friedel-Crafts catalyzed resin. There may be 5-95% wt. (C) and 3-15% (R) based on the composition. Also present may be components conventionally included in friction elements, e.g. asbestos, BaSO 4 , metal turnings or filings, mica, Fe oxide, or graphite or friction dust. The cement may be Portland, Ferrari, slag, or sulphate-resisting cement, or Alcement. Friction elements may be made by hot-pressing the composition.
