1509105 Lock for bands NEIMAN SA 24 Sept 1976 [30 Sept 1975] 39700/76 Heading E2A A lock comprises a plurality of parallel tumbler plates 1, having a rectangular shape and the same outside dimensions, disposed in a case 2 and biased by springs 3. The plates 1 have a cut - out 4 the upper edge of which having a sensing profile 6 and a locking projection 7, the distance between the profile and the upper edge varies from one tumbler plate to the other and constitutes the code of the key - released lock. The part to be locked includes a band 9, which may be attached e.g. to a suitcase, or crash helmet, provided on the two edges thereof with self latching notches 10 and 11, the free end of the band being pointed to facilitate entry of the band into the lock and the raising of the plates 1. Introduction of the right key 14 by sliding it in a direction parallel to the band 9 puts the plates 1 in alignment by co - operation of the notches 15 of the key with the profiles 6 of the plates, and these plates release the band 9, since the projections 7 have left the notches 10 and the lower edges 5 do not enter the notches 11.
