1508961 Targets: projectiles DRK Ltd 10 Jan 1977 [16 Jan 1976] 01805/76 Heading A6S A target for use in playing a game of the type in which missiles, e.g. darts are intended to be thrown at the target, consists of an array of plastics filaments extending generally at right angles to the target surface on which scoring areas are shown, e.g. by a framework of wire or plastics, or by using different coloured filaments. The filaments may be rigid polypropylene of 0.020" diameter, inserted into holes or undercut grooves in a plastics backboard, or held in a folded and crimped metal strip, wound spirally or cut into lengths made into a square or rectangle. Alternatively metal strips crimped onto plastics filaments may be stapled, glued, &c. to a wooden or foamed plastics background, &c. The missiles e.g. in the form of board, or slidden into undercut grooves in a plastics backboard, &c. The missiles e.g. in the form of darts, may each consist of a body of plastics or metal, a flight of plastics or paper, and a flat front end having a forwardly extending bunch of plastics filaments, e.g. shaped as a ring, star or cross. Alternatively a dart body has an axial hole containing a thin walled plastics tube extending forwardly and cut diagonally at its front end to stick frictionally to the filaments on the target. In another form, the dart is moulded integrally of polypropylene &c. and has an axial bore with a constriction to grip any filaments which enter it. Alternativeily, the missile may be a flat disk.
