Abstract

1507836 Helical antennae MARCONI CO Ltd 14 May 1975 [3 Aug 1974] 34305/74 Heading H4A An axial mode helical antenna 2 comprises an auxiliary conductive path 7 extending from the feed point 4 to a further point 6 part way round the first turn of the helix, and one or more stub members 8-11 extending from the ground plane 1 toward the first turn. The antenna is fed from a relatively low impedance source and a matching transformer is not necessarily required. The link 7 may be a strip conductor or a segmental plate (not shown) filling the area bounded by the line between points 4 and 6 and the helix.
