Abstract

1507556 Flame retardant moulding compositions BASF AG 7 Aug 1975 [8 Aug 1974] 32989/75 Heading C3R A moulding composition comprises a linear thermoplastic polyester, a flameproofing agent and 10 to 60% by weight, based on the composition, of glass spheres having an average diameter of less than 100 Ám. The composition may also contain a particulate mineral filler, e.g. kaolin, calcined kaolin or talcum, of a particle size of less than 40 Ám. Specified polyesters are polypropylene terephthalate and polybutylene terephthalate, and specified flame retardants are (i) mixtures of antimony trioxide and decabromobiphenyl or an adduct of hexachlorocyclopentadiene and cyclo-octadiene and (ii) red phosphorus.
