Abstract

1507527 Windscreen and head-lamp washers ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 6 May 1975 [23 Oct 1974] 18860/75 Heading A4F [Also in Division F2] In washing equipment for a windscreen, headlamp lens, or other vehicle screen, means is provided between a pump, supplying liquid to at least two spray nozzles, and respective conduits leading to the nozzles, for influencing the through flow of the washing liquid in dependence upon the supply pressure, the means comprising a membrane which carries closure members for all of the nozzle conduits and moves with increase of inlet pressure to permit simultaneous flow through them all. The illustrated means consists of a valve 10 having an inlet nipple (13) Fig. 1, (not shown) connected to a supply pump, and outlet nipples 15, 16 connected by conduits 16, 17 to spray nozzles. The pressure of liquid supplied via the inlet nipple (13) displaces a valve membrane 19 against the action of a spring 31 to move simultaneously valve members 20, 21 controlling the liquid flow to the conduits 16,17. The valve members are press fitted on to studs 26 carried by a plate 25 secured to the membrane 19. A stem 28 enables manual raising of the valve members to permit purging the system of air.
