Abstract

The laminate with gas barrier layer for packaging containers contains a carrier layer (1) of extruded polystyrene foam, a layer (2) of polyvinylidene chloride applied to one side of the carrier layer and outer cover layers (3) of polystyrene with an addition of butadiene. During the production of the laminate, a web of polystyrene foam is coated with a polyvinylidene chloride-containing emulsion (2), the emulsion medium evaporating at a temperature of 25 to 100 DEG C. Thereupon, the polyvinylidene chloride-coated polystyrene foam web is provided on both sides with in each case one outer layer (3) of polystyrene. <IMAGE>
