Abstract

1507136 Roof structures; structural bars GAY HOLDINGS PTY Ltd QUEENSLAND ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES PTY Ltd and L D GOLEBY 3 Sept 1976 36709/76 Headings E1K and E1W [Also in -Division F2] Bridging pieces 11 are secured to purlins 10 in a building frame by a jointing arrangement comprising a pair of hooks 19 formed on a bracket 15 on one end of each bridging piece engageable by swinging of the bridging piece with corresponding slots 13 in the purlin and simultaneously engageable with corresponding slots 17 in a flange 16 of a bracket 14 on the opposite end of an adjacent bridging piece, each hook having a pressed-out portion 22 shaped as a cam and of gradually increasing depth in a direction outwardly from the longitudinal axis of the bridging piece, so that as the bridging piece is swung to fully engage the hooks, the portions 22 grip the opposite edges of the two slots in both the purlin and the flange 16 of the next bridging piece, to ensure a tight joint.
