Abstract
1505497 Textile colouring method I W S NOMINEE CO Ltd 22 May 1975 [9 May 1974] 20576/74 Heading D1B A process for colouring textile fabrics comprises applying a dyeing agent, which may or may not be coloured, to the fabric from a bath and the concentration of the agent in the bath and/or the duration of contact with the fabric is varied to cause successive zones of the fabric to take up progressively different amounts of the agent, such that the final coloured fabric, if necessary after coloration, shows a differentially shaded coloured effect. Dyeing agents are dyes, dye resist agents or dye attractants. The concentration of the bath is preferably varied by draining or filling during the treatment. The preferred fabrics are made of keratinous fibres, particularly wool. Dyes used are acid, basic react and mondant.
