Abstract

1504885 Pipe couplings BRIDON ENG Ltd 24 Oct 1975 [14 Nov 1974] 49222/74 Heading F2G A pipe coupling for use with a marine loading arm comprises a cylindrical member 10 having mounting members thereon carrying clamping assemblies 12 for releasably clamping thereto a pipe flange to be coupled through the agency of an adaptor guide plate 17, a further cylindrical member 18 being disposed partially within and coaxially with the member 10, and the two members being formed with ball tracks 19, 20 containing ball bearings 22, so that the member 10 is rotatably mounted on the member 18 whilst being located axially relative thereto. The bearings 22 could be replaced by a cable coated with carbon loaded polytetrafluorethylene and a seal 24 bearing on a stainless steel inlay is provided between the members 10, 18. A lip seal 15 held in place by a ring 16 is disposed in the end face of the member 10.
