1504782 Substituted naphthoquinones and pesticidal compositions containing them E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 9 May 1975 [10 May 1974 2 Aug 1974] 16894/77 Divided out of 1504781 Heading C2C Substituted naphthoquinones of the general formula wherein R 1 represents a branched, cyclic or straight chain, alkyl group of 12-14 carbon atoms; and R 2 represents a branched or straight chain alkyl group with 1-6 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl group with 3-6 carbon atoms are prepared by acylating a corresponding 2- alkyl - 3 - hydroxy - 1,4 - naphthoquinone with the appropriate acid chloride or anhydride in the presence of at least an equivalent of amine. The compounds have pesticidal properties.
