Abstract

1504723 Laminates SONY CORP 7 April 1975 14242/75 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Laminates are formed by superimposing on to a sheet material e.g. polyvinyl chloride or aluminium a preformed sheet material, e.g. polyethylene, aluminium plate or polyvinylchloride coated with an adhesive composition composed of (c) a rubber consisting of 93 to 99À5% by weight of butadiene and acrylonitrile units and 0À5 to 7% by weight of acrylic and/or methacrylic acid units the weight ratio of acrylonitrile to butadiene units being 15 : 85 to 50 : 50, having a molecular weight greater than 10<SP>5</SP>, and (b) a polyamide of molecular weight 500 to 5000 formed by condensation of a polymerized C 8 -C 24 aliphatic monocarboxylic acid with a molecular weight of 140 to 400 with a compound of the formula where n is 1 to 5, the weight ratio of (b) to (a) being 0À5 : 100 to 1 : 1. Examples are adhesivecoated polyethylene laminated to polyvinyl chloride or aluminium foil, polyvinyl chloride laminated to melamine printed iron plate and adhesive-coated aluminium plate laminated to aluminium.
