Abstract

1504697 Mounting sprayer tanks on tractors J W CHAFER LTD 2 May 1975 [3 May 1974] 19556/74 Heading AID [Also in Division B7] Tanks 8, 9 for attachment to a tractor 1 to hold fertilizer or insecticide during spraying operations are hinged to a framework 5 adapted to be connected to the tractor so that the tanks can be swung away from their normal working position to allow access to the engine compartment of the tractor. The framework 5 is generally U-shaped in plan so that the tractor can be driven into the open end thereof. The tanks 8, 9 are of inverted L-shape, and the rear ends of the tanks are attached to a support beam 2 when in the working position. The framework and the tanks may be raised and lowered by electrically, pneumatically or hydraulically operated lifting means to facilitate their mounting on and removal from the tractor. In another embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), a single saddle tank is connected to the framework so that it can be hinged upwardly about a horizontal transverse axis at its front end to allow access to the engine compartment.
