Abstract

In the pigmented paint based on siloxane resins and methacrylate copolymers, which can be used, in particular, as a water-repellent, exterior building-protection paint, the siloxane resins conform to the following formula (I) <IMAGE> R<1> is a methyl and/or phenyl radical, R<2> is a lower alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a has a value of from 0.5 to 1.8, and b has a value of from 0.2 to 2.5. The condensation of the OR<2> groups in the siloxane resin, which occurs even at room temperature in the presence of atmospheric moisture, is accelerated by catalysts, such as, in particular, dialkyl diacyl tin compounds. With a small amount of solvent, the paint can have a relatively high binder content, which guarantees weathering resistance and good covering properties.
