Abstract

1503756 Parallel plate droplet separator HAMON-SOBELCO SA 13 May 1975 [17 May 1974] 19972/75 Heading BIT A droplet separator for a gas stream comprises at least one rigid panel of spaced parallel plates 18 defining between each adjacent two thereof a passage for the gas stream, said panel comprising means defining at least one decrease in the cross section of a first region of each passage upstream of a further region of the passage in which the gas stream undergoes a substantial change in direction, said means being deflectors 20 disposed in alternating relation to the parallel plates, each deflector ensuring a progressive decrease in the cross-section of passage for the gas stream in the direction of its flow to a region in which said cross-section is minimal, the plates being provided with apertures and an assembly rod extending through the apertures of the plates. The plates may be of asbestos or plastics material e.g. reinforced with glass fibres.
