Abstract
1503527 Discharging hoppers B GRETEN [trading as BISON-WERKE BAHRE & GRETEN GmbH & CO KG] 9 May 1975 [9 May 1974] 19704/75 Heading B8S [Also in Division B5] Apparatus for use in forming a layer of material, for example during the production of a length of board such as chipboard, comprises a metering bin (1) having a discharge opening (2), Fig. 1 (not shown), from which the material falls via a triangular shaped deflector 7 on to two oscillating inclined sieves 10, 11, the grating size of the sieves being such that mediumcoarse and fairly-coarse particles move downwards over the sieve surfaces while very fine and fine particles fall through the sieves 10, 11 on to a layer carrier, for example a conveyer belt (not shown), the medium-coarse and fairlycoarse particles being fed to rotating scattering rollers 12, 13 which deposit those particles into the area beneath the sieves 10, 11, while the fine particles which pass through the sieves 10, 11 are caused to travel to the upper and lower sides of the medium-coarse and fairly-coarse particles by means of an air blower 37 which blows air in two horizontal opposite directions in the direction of the rollers 12, 13. Both sieves 10, 11 are pivotally mounted on respective levers 16, 22 and 17, 23, the upper edges 14, 15 of the sieves being attached to a plate 26 which is connected to an arm 27 movable to-and-fro in the direction of the arrow 30 by an eccentric drive 29, thereby oscillating the sieves. The scattering rollers 12, 13 are driven by means of belt drives 34, 33 from a motor (35). The apparatus is movable transversely to the direction of movement of the layer carrier.
