1503501 Vinyl (3,5 - di - tert. - butyl - 4- hydroxyphenyl) propionate; 2 - (2<SP>1</SP>- hydroxy- 31 - acryloylaminomethyl - 5<SP>1</SP> - methylphenyl)- benzotriazole G SCOTT 5 March 1975 [6 March 1974 11 July 1974] 10086/74 and 30870/74 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] Example 18 describes the preparation of vinyl(3,5 - di - t - butyl - 4 - hydroxyphenyl)- propionate by reacting vinyl acetate with 3,5- di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl propionic acid in the presence of mercuric acetate and concentrated sulphuric acid. Example 23 describes the preparation of 2- (21 - hydroxy - 31 - acryloylaminomethyl - 51- methylphenyl)-benzotriazole by reacting 2-(2<SP>1</SP>- hydroxy - 5<SP>1 </SP>- methylphenyl)benzotriazole with N-methylolacrylamide in concentrated sulphuric acid.
