1503404 Cooling dynamo-electric machines E I GUREVICH I F FILIPPOV I A PRIGOROVSKY G M KHUTORETSKY and A I VORONTSOV 6 April 1976 13910/76 Heading H2A A non-salient pole synchronous electric generator having a laminated stator core 7 with radial cooling passages 9, the core being spaced from the stator frame 5 by axially extending cooling passages 12, 13 communicating in pairs through the radial channels and the generator air gap 10, one channel, 12, of each pair communicating with the outlets of gas coolers 6 located at the ends of the generator and the other channel, 13, of each pair communicating, via the generator end windings 15, with the depression zones of fans 2 at the ends of the generator, the pressure zones of the fans communicating with the inlets of the gas coolers. The generator shown is a hydrogen cooled turbogenerator, the hydrogen passing circumferentially round the air gap between each channel 12 and the associated channel 13. The air gap 10 is separated from the depression zones of the fans by annular partitions 11.
