1502431 Collapsible containers J DRING Ltd 21 May 1975 [16 May 1974] 21888/74 Heading B8P A container is formed from a blank to have four walls 2-5 and a base formed from four portions 11, 12, 19, 20 of the blank at least two of the portions having flaps which define upright partitions in the container. A lid portion 7 is engageable over sealing flaps 9, 10. To assemble the container, the base portions 11, 12, 19, 20 are folded inwardly and the walls 2-5 are folded to tubular form, a flap 6 being adhered to the wall 2. The flaps 13-16, 23, 231, 24, 24<SP>1</SP>, are folded upwardly, with the flaps 15, 24, 16, 24<SP>1</SP> turned at right angles to the rest to define partitions (Fig. 3). Triangular portions 22, 22<SP>1</SP> are folded over and adhered to the adjacent base portions 11, 12. The assembled container may be reduced to a substantially flat form, e.g. for transport by pulling apart those diagonally opposed edges of the container adjacent the portions 22, 22<SP>1</SP>, i.e. the edges between walls 2, 3 and 4, 5, to collapse the container. In alternative constructions, the triangular portions may be provided on the base portions (30), (31) adjacent the longer container sides, Fig. 2 (not shown), or such portions may not be provided, Fig. 4 (not shown) or may be modified in shape, Fig. 5 or 6 (not shown).
