Abstract
1501982 Electrical connectors MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AG 24 March 1975 [27 March 1974 16 Aug 1974] 12154/75 Heading H2E An electrical connector connecting together two aligned electrical conductors of the same cross-sectional shape disposed in end to end relationship, comprises a bridge provided with transversely extending means effecting a joint to each conductor. As described the connector has a cross-section that is equal to or less than that of the conductors, and the bridge is of a material, for example copper or silver, that has an electrical conductivity at least as high as that of the conductors, and may, together with the conductors, be at least partially coated with gold or silver. The bridge may be circular in cross-section, Fig. 3, three pins 32 being provided at each end of a tapered silver bridge 30. Alternatively, the bridge may be rectangular in cross-section. The bridge may comprise two members 22, 24, Fig. 2, having projections for co-operating with grooves 20 in the conductors, three members (Fig. 4, not shown) or have an integral construction. In this latter case projections are provided for inserting in co-operating apertures, which projections may either be integral with the bridge or comprise separate pins.
