Abstract
1501924 Reducing contamination by hydrocarbons K BISA 21 May 1975 [17 Feb 1975] 21941/75 Heading C1C A method for eliminating or at least reducing contamination of the surface of the earth by hydrocarbons comprises the release of hydrocarbon attacking micro-organisms together with a culture medium suitable for the micro-organisms in aerosol form into the atmosphere in such manner as to fall on to the contaminated area. The micro-organisms and culture medium may be both in the aerosol, or may be formed as two separate clouds and allowed to combine. These two aerosol clouds may be electrically charged with opposite polarities. Apparatus for carrying out the method is also claimed.
