Abstract
1501561 Determination of lecithin cholesterol acyl transferase NIPPON SHOJI KAISHA Ltd 30 April 1976 [2 May 1975 22 Jan 1976] 17733/76 Heading G1B A lecithin substrate solution for the measurement of the activity of lecithin cholesterol acyl transferase comprises 2À5 to 10 mg/ml lecithin and at least 0À01% (w/v) of a non-ionic surfactant in a buffer solution. Lecithin substrates exemplified are:- dipalmitoyl-, dimyristoyl- and distearyl lecithin. The non-ionic surfactant may be a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, polyoxyethylene alkyl phenol ether, a polyoxyethylene sorbitan alkyl ester, a polyoxyethylene alkyl ester, a polyoxyethylene alkylamine, a polyoxyethylene alkyl amide or a sorbitan alkyl ester. The free cholesterol formed on incubating a test sample containing the transferase with the substrate of the invention may be determined using a reagent comprisng cholesterol oxidase, peroxidase, phenol and 4-amino-antipyrine.
