Abstract
1501361 Clocks SANSHO CO Ltd 9 Feb 1976 [10 Feb 1975] 4884/76 Heading G3T A timepiece 10 comprises a casing 11 with windows 12, 13 in its front plate 11a for viewing hour and minute indicating cylinders 16, 17 which are driven at appropriate speeds by a motor 31, the periphery of each cylinder being divided into two contrastingly coloured areas by an inclined line 24, 25 so that time is indicated by the interfaces, as at 14a, 15c in Fig. 1, in co-operation with digits adjacent the respective windows. The motor may be of electric or spring type driving the cylinders continuously as shown in Fig. 2; the hours cylinder and window may be extended Fig. 4 (not shown) to aid reading between 12 and 1 o'clock. An alternative system is also described in which the hours cylinder is advanced intermittently and the minutes cylinder is rapidly returned to its zero position at the end of each hour Fig. 5 (not shown). A further seconds cylinder may be provided, and one or more lamps in or between the windows.
