Abstract
1500264 Cable connectors SOC D'APPAREILLAGE AUXILIAIRE POURL'ELECTRICITE 21 July 1976 [21 July 1975] 30418/76 Heading H2E A cable connector element comprises a body 10 having a longitudinally extending laterally opening cavity defined in part by a concave wall 11a and a longitudinal groove having in cross-section, a substantially semicircular bottom 13a that is concave in substantially the same direction as wall 11a. That part of the body which is provided with the groove extends to a wall 11b opposite wall 11a and has a cross-section which, when inverted can be inscribed in the cross-section of the cavity. The wall 11a is curved or part polygonal and has a radius of curvature gerater than that of the groove bottom, the wall 11a being also symmetrical with respect to a longitudinal plane. As described, two metal elements 10, 10<SP>1</SP> are employed which fit together as shown so as to connect two cables 20, 21. The elements are compressed by dieing, force being applied along the major axis of the substantially oval cross-section. The cables 20, 21 may be separated by cutting along the minor axis. The walls 11b, 11<SP>1</SP>b may be planar and either perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of symmetry of wall 11a (as shown) or inclined thereto (Fig. 7, not shown). Alternatively these surfaces may be curved (Fig. 8, not shown).
