Abstract
1500190 Container traffic containers OFFICINE CARDI SpA 7 Dec 1975 [12 June 1974] 5246/75 Heading B8Q A container C with a reinforcing framework A for transport on a trailer V with an engaging rib R drawn by a tractor unit T has longitudinal beams L pivotally mounting a retractable carriage S which supports the container when the tractor unit T is detached. The beams L have linkages 11-14 which are displaced against spring action when pins are forced against cam plates 1 by saddles on the ribs R to pivot the carriage S to an operative position. At the same time as the container is being lowered on to the ribs R second pins similarly engage cam plates 2 to insert studs 25 into holes in the mounting end 3 of the carriage to lock it in position. The engagement of the pins in the saddles of the ribs R locates the container C on the trailer and holds it against longitudinal displacement.
